Cactus Grid License Agreement
Licensor: Cactus Deck, Quito, Ecuador ("we", "us"). Contact: support@cactusdeck.com · +593 96 886 8157.
Version: 1.1, developer-tools edition — effective 23 October 2026.
This copy covers Cactus Grid, a data grid for React. It is the Cactus Deck license published at https://cactusdeck.com/license/, with section 2 replaced by per-developer tiers for developer tools; every other section is the same. In this agreement "Template" means Cactus Grid. A Spanish version ships as `LICENCIA.md`; both versions are equally valid.
By downloading, installing or using Cactus Grid you ("Licensee", "you") agree to this agreement. If you don't agree, don't use it, and ask for a refund under our Refund Policy.
1. Definitions
- Template — the Cactus Grid source code and packages (`@cactusdeck/grid` and `@cactusdeck/grid-*`), styles, themes, documentation, examples, sample data and other files in the download, including future updates you receive under this agreement.
- End Product — a website or application you build that incorporates the Template and adds substantial original work of your own. A copy of the Template with cosmetic changes (colors, names, logos) is not an End Product.
- End User — a person who uses an End Product.
- Paying End Users — End Users who pay to access or use the End Product: subscriptions, one-time purchases, paid plans or premium features, and in-app purchases. Advertising, donations, sponsorships, and an organization paying for an internal tool used by its own people do not make End Users paying.
- Client — a third party for whom you build an End Product in exchange for payment.
- Seat — one individual developer who works with the Template's source code at a given time. Contractors count as Seats, and so do you. You may reassign a Seat when someone leaves or changes role, as long as no more people than your tier allows work with the Template at the same time.
2. License tiers
The license is non-exclusive, worldwide, perpetual (subject to section 9) and non-transferable. Your rights depend on the tier you purchased; the tier is shown on your receipt and license key. Cactus Grid is a developer tool, so its tiers count the developers who work with it, not the products you build.
| Tier | Seats | End Products | Client work | Paying End Users | Platform Products |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Solo | 1 | Unlimited | Yes | Yes | No |
| Team | Up to 5 | Unlimited | Yes | Yes | No |
| Extended | Up to 10 | Unlimited | Yes | Yes | Yes |
- Any React setup. You may use Cactus Grid in any React application (Vite, Next.js or another setup), within the limits of your tier.
- Every tier covers any number of End Products, commercial or not — including SaaS products with Paying End Users, internal tools, and End Products you build for Clients and hand over to them. Each Client End Product is covered by your license: the Client, and its employees and contractors, may use, modify and maintain that End Product without buying a license of their own, but may not extract the Template from it or reuse it anywhere else.
- Platform Product (Extended only) — an End Product that lets your own customers build or configure their own applications, dashboards, reports or tables that include the Template: for example a low-code or internal-tools platform, a BI or reporting product, or a white-label admin product you sell to many companies. Your customers may use the Template only inside your product; they may not access its source code, extract it or use it on its own.
- More seats — for teams larger than 10, write to hello@cactusdeck.com.
3. What you may do
- Use, modify and combine the Template to build End Products within your tier.
- Remove or replace any branding, sample content and placeholder data.
- Keep using End Products you built after your license ends or after support for a version stops.
4. What you may not do
- Redistribute the Template itself, in whole or in part, as source code, a template, theme, starter kit, boilerplate, UI kit, component library or design system — free or paid, modified or not.
- Sell or list it on a marketplace (ThemeForest, Gumroad, GitHub, etc.), or make it available in a public repository. The source code of an End Product that includes the Template must stay in private repositories; the End Product itself may ship its compiled/bundled output publicly.
- Build a competing product whose main value is the Template's code or design: another data grid, a wrapper or component library around it, or a builder or generator that gives End Users their own copies of it. A Platform Product under the Extended tier is not a competing product.
- Exceed your tier — more Seats than your tier allows, or a Platform Product without the Extended tier. Upgrading is always possible by paying the price difference.
- Sublicense, rent, lease or transfer the license, except as part of handing a Client End Product to that Client.
- Use the Template in anything unlawful, or remove the third-party notices in section 6.
5. Updates and support
- Updates — the license is perpetual, and you receive every update within the same major version (for example all of 1.x) at no cost. Each new major version (for example 2.0) is a new purchase, offered to existing customers at a 50% discount.
- Support — we answer questions about installing and using the Template by email at support@cactusdeck.com, within 2 business days. Support does not include custom development or fixing modifications you made.
6. Third-party components
The Template includes open-source software and fonts under their own licenses (for example the MIT License and the SIL Open Font License 1.1). Those licenses govern those components; their notices ship with the Template (`package.json` dependencies, `LICENSE` files and font license files) and must be kept. In Cactus Grid these include:
- TanStack Virtual (`@tanstack/react-virtual`) — MIT License.
- Every other npm dependency, under the license in its `package.json` and its own `LICENSE` file.
Sample images and data are placeholders: replace them before publishing, and don't treat them as licensed for your End Product.
7. Ownership
We (and our licensors) keep all intellectual-property rights in the Template. This agreement grants a license, not ownership. You own the original work you add in your End Products.
8. No warranty
The Template is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, to the extent permitted by applicable law.
9. Limitation of liability and termination
- To the extent permitted by law, our total liability under this agreement is limited to the amount you paid for the license. We are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, lost profits or lost data.
- Termination for breach: if you breach this agreement, the license ends after written notice and 30 days to cure, where the breach can be cured. You must then stop using the Template in new work. End Products already delivered or deployed may keep running and receive maintenance (bug and security fixes), but no new features built with the Template.
- Termination by refund: a refund (or a charge-back) ends the license and every right under it, including for End Products already built. Within 30 days you must stop using the Template and remove it from those End Products.
- Nothing in this agreement excludes or limits rights or liability that the law does not allow to be excluded or limited, including the protections of consumer laws such as Ecuador's Ley Orgánica de Defensa del Consumidor or those of the European Union and the United Kingdom.
10. General
- Governing law and venue: the laws of Ecuador and the courts of Quito, without taking away the mandatory consumer protections of the country where you live. The purchase itself is also governed by the buyer terms of our payment processor, Polar.
- Order of precedence: Polar's buyer terms govern the payment; this agreement governs your use of the Template and prevails over any other document on that subject.
- Language: this agreement is published in English and Spanish; both versions are equally valid.
- If a provision is unenforceable, the rest of the agreement still applies.
- This agreement, your receipt and our Terms of Sale are the whole agreement about the Template.
